Our Psychotherapists in Watford provide a range of individual therapies e.g. psychodynamic, integrative or metalization based treatment (MBT). Regardless of theoretical orientation individual therapy is a face to face therapy between a client and a therapist, usually lasting for fifty minutes per session. The aim is to enable the client to bring to the session and explore with the therapist psychological, emotional, behavioural or relationship problems that are troubling them in their daily life. It will often become apparent that these issues are not quite what they seem at first. Often they will have their roots in past experiences that have not yet been resolved.
Through exploration with the therapist in the here and now of the session, an understanding of the problem can be obtained that can enable the client to gain new insights about both past and present and so adopt and practice new strategies that should lead to a fundamentally better quality of life.
